Liquid-filled capsules have a traditional two-section structure, using a gelatin or HPMC (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose) shell, and are considered "ideal containers for liquid and semi-solid dosage forms." Pfizer's production base in China, Suzhou Capsule Co., Ltd., has begun introducing this new capsule product to the domestic market, providing pharmaceutical and health supplement manufacturers with an attractive and reliable formulation option.

Traditional capsules are generally divided into two categories: hard capsules (suitable for filling powdered drugs) and soft capsules (suitable for oily liquid drugs such as fish oil, vitamin E, and vitamin A). Compared to traditional capsules, liquid-filled capsules have distinct characteristics and wider applicability. They are highly transparent, have good heat and moisture resistance, sealing properties, and toughness, making them particularly suitable for processing liquid drugs, poorly soluble drugs, or health supplements with unpleasant tastes or odors, or those prone to oxidation and discoloration, into capsule forms. Furthermore, liquid-filled capsules offer advantages such as the ability to be produced in small batches, relatively simple manufacturing processes, and low drug migration rates.
